3rd Story Workshop Sleepy Fox Quilt Block Kit

Andrea Tsang Jackson is a textile artist, quilt designer, author and educator based here in Halifax. Since meeting Andrea 8 years ago (she did some of the quilting on her first quilt here in our studio!) we have had the pleasure of her teaching many of her quilt designs in our studio. Andrea makes beautiful and accessible quilt patterns that are easy to follow – particularly her ordered improv work. Of her work she says ‘her background in architecture has allowed her to understand design process from a variety of approaches; her training in life has taught her about the beauty in mess’. We can really relate to that last part and we appreciate her ability to invite order in the creative process.

In addition to all of this, Andrea is a lovely person to be around and to work with. Choosing these custom fabrics from our selection for her quilt designs was a fun process. We chose to highlight the ‘Sleepy Fox’ paper piecing pattern because this little guy is beloved to us – Andrea taught him so many times in our workshop! He is nestled in a bed of assorted Rifle Paper Co. x Cotton + Steel florals. In this kit you will find enough fabric to make a 16″ block which can then be used in a quilt, or on a pillow or a sweet wall hanging.
