Natural Dye – Indigo

Skill Level

We are beyond thrilled to have the opportunity to offer this workshop in the fundamentals of dyeing with indigo. This afternoon workshop will walk you through how indigo dye is made, what materials are needed for indigo dye projects, and how to create surface designs through the ancient Japanese technique of shibori, a resist technique that uses wood blocks, string, elastic and clamps. Included in the workshop price is 1.5 meters of linen that has been prepared in advance and is ready to accept dye. You’ll create a beautiful 1.5 meter piece of hand-indigo-dyed fabric which you can then use to make a garment, or even finish as a simple scarf. All supplies are included in the cost of this workshop.

Workshop includes: One 4.5 hour instruction session. All supplies included.
