In this class we will teach you to do simple (but beautiful!) decorative fabric repairs that are meant to stand out. This technique can include everything from embroidery to darning to patching using contrasting colors and fabrics, and can transform damaged clothes into statement pieces that proudly show their wear. Plus it is a great way to spend the afternoon and breathe new life into old things. We will teach you how to do a darning stitch, decorative stitches for tears and holes, plus patching and reverse applique for large and small holes. Students are welcome to bring a few items that need love, or you can simply make a sampler to learn the skills for future use. We will have a variety of colors of thread plus fabric scrap for patching.
